I'm pretty sure that the XTS3000 is one of the latest "jedi" radios.

Compared to an MTX8000 (jedi) in analog trunking mode, the XTS has better receive sensitivity and is less subject to adjacent channel interference and Nextel.

I'd prefer the XTS over any analog radio (even though the XTS is digital/analog if so flashed for digital operation.

How is the receive audio from an XTS?
One word - Beautiful.

Is it better than the Jedi?
The sound quality is better, but I have found that the Jedi is louder.

Also, the XTS is NOT a Jedi. I've seen a lot of people posting that the XTS is just a digital Jedi, but I don't see why people make this assumption. Other than the fact that they are designed to use some of the same accessories, the radios themselves don't share one common part.

A Jedi is a radio in the HT1000/MT2000/MTS2000/JT1000 etc type case. The XTS uses the same accessory connector as the Jedi but is a completely different case.

Someone trained in the use of The Force through different disciplines of patience, protection, peace, and persuing the greater good of The Republic. A Jedi only uses the Force for defense not attack.

Sorry couldn't help it......
