Upgrading Firmware on Spectra??

Post by mfr301 »

I have a VHF Astro Spectra W-7 with the following flash code:

100008-00000-0

IMBE Apco 25 and Smartzone trunking ONLY

Model number: D04KKH9PW7AN

Has a DVP board installed as well...

When I program a narrowband channel into it, it tells me that the radio does not accept 2.5khz deviation and firmware needs to be upgraded.

1: How would I do that?
2: Is that upgrading the flashcode or are they seperate?

Thanks in advance.

Mike,

Your radio needs the HRN 6014 Rev C or D to do the narrow band on VHF. I have the same problem with mine.

When you change out the board, it has the correct firmware on it. Then the radio will load and operate on the new narrow band freqs. About $632 from MotherMoto.
