DES-XL KEYFAIL AS3

DES-XL KEYFAIL AS3

just installed a des-xl module into my as3. key wont load. when i put the radio thru test mode it says. EMC r01.01 KG1-DES-XL KG2-none. is this a bad module. or is the module too old for this radio.this module was supposedly brand new. the ware is R 7.09.02 DSP N08.02.04 Any help; greatly appreciated. :lol:

I think we need more info here. What do you mean by "key wont load"? Does the KVL fail? Or does the pass tones come out of the radio but you still get keyfail displayed?

the radio beeps a couple of times like an error beep and keyfail shows up on screen. the kvl doesnt show that the key loaded successfully.

Check to see if you have multikey enabled. Unless you need more than one key in the radio, it can cause problems like this. Also, see if you are loading 0 to 0 or 1 to 1. Worse case, load 0 to F.

What's your flashcode? Also, make sure your loader isn't a DVP-XL loader. The self test screen you typed is fine if you have a one type of encyption in the module.

pj the flashcode is the so called Chicago flashcode . so you know where it came from. im only need to load one key. i have multi key disabled and it is a DESXL module only. the radio even says it during self test. we loaded another as3 and it took the key fine. im puzzled.

Make sure it is a DX keyloader ...A,B, & CX's won't work...
