Sorry to hear about your loss...ouch! But I have a few questions. How did the theft gain entry into your locker? Pry the door, smash the lock? Also was your locker the only one the thief went into? Was your radio the only thing missing from it? Who knew you carried the radio with you? Anyone see you place it in the locker? Got to wonder if your locker was the only one 'opened', if you were not targeted by someone.

Radio Loss
rof,
You may want to speak with the custodians to see if they may of seen anyone walking around with a radio on that day.
Just a thought.

Could it be possible that you thought you put enough finger pressure on it when you locked it and it really did not catch?? Also, when you placed it in the locker was anyone putting anything in the locker on either side of yours, you may want to question the folks who have lockers on eitherside of you. And I am sure you have done it already, but get that serial to the local pd's pawn squad as soon as possible, also you may want to pop into a few pawn shops and explain the situation and give them the serial as well, along with your phone number.

stolen radio
sorry to hear about it.hope you find it. is there anyway you can disable the radio thru mdc if it had it. i know you can with the ht series with a console.
Hey guys:
In all probabilities, this appears to me as if it could be Motorola Corporate Security. In the past they have been known to make illegal entry to attain evidence for civil litigation purposes. The entry seems to be too professional thus eliminating the fact that some low life committed this entry. This is just my opinion.

Maybe they broke into the Watergate? Where's G. Gordon Liddy when you need him? Who knows, but it would be interesting to see how Motorola finds these guys who infringe on their copyrights. Remember the thread about people getting letters asking for those Ebay pirated CD-ROMs back. Where they find the list of purchasers?

I have to agree, are you on DRUGS??? That sounds like something out of the X-Files Mr. NCIC, I don't see Motorola that concerned about a radio that at one time they made their five grand on. And no police agency in the world is going to approach someone and say hey, we have your radio, we did an illegal search and seizure and now we want to charge you with listening in on our traffic!!! Come on man, get real!! And by the way, no police officer in his right mind is gonna go in someones school locker without a warrant and take someone's two way radio because it looks like a PD radio, if the police had any interest in the radio he has on his hip they would just ask him about it.

"Acting in good faith". I would love ot hear that used as a legal defense against a theft of property charge. Sound like there was no good faith gesture here, just a B&E and theft of property. Maybe someone here can explain to me why a lot of people seem to think that Motorola is some sort of boogy man with powers outside the reach of law enforcement.
I really don't think anybody at Motorola corp. is sitting around thinking about the guy in where ever who has an Astro Saber on his hip, if that were the case Motorola would be at every surplus and DRMO warehouse in the U.S. and Canada combing through pallets rescueing Astro Sabers before they made it to the public domain!! Come on man, Motorola is not the big bad boogy man!

Back to reality for a minute...
What area of Canada are you from (if you want to post it) Maybe if we all keep an eye to Ebay for Astro Sabers showing up with sellers from that area we migh get lucky. That is if they list the propper location of course.
Was there anything obvious about it, scratches, stickers, engraving 1st mode label etc...?
Anything that would show up in a photo?
