Need an electric Vacuum Valve

Post by nmfire10 »

This has got to be the most simple and stupid device know to man in the automotive world. I need a valve the will turn a vacuum line on and off with a 12v switch. This is so freakin simple but it does not seem to exist ANYWHERE. No autopart store here has anything. Nothing online that I have found.

This is for the high-idle control on our rescue truck. We could order a new one from Kussmal but they want $60.00 for this stupid little thing. It is worth about $10.00.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND SOMETHING LIKE THIS? I really need it!!!

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

Go to a salvage yard and find any late 80's front wheel drive Chrysler vehicle with fuel injection- preferably a 2.2 Turbo car.
On the right-inner strut tower lies a group of 3 to 4 solonoids that will do this. You'll probably pay about five bucks for it.

It's pathetic that I need to go to a Junkyard to find such a simple device, but I'll be making a trip there on Monday.

Do you know Kussmal wants $60.00 for that stupid thing?

When they e-mailed me saying that it was $60.00. I almost fell out of my chair. I sent them a repy along the lines of "You know I need JUST the valve, not the entire idler kit, right?" Yep, $60.00 for the world most simple and stupid part.

No turbo. All I need a normal on/off vacuum valve to replace one that is already there but broken in half.
