It would seem there's a big discrepancy between what Motorola in the U.S. and what Motorola Canada are willing to pay an MSS for providing warranty service. As a Canadian MSS, we currently do not get paid for resolving/fixing any problem(s) that do not require opening the radio, such as: reprogramming, alignments, replacement of any external labels, knobs, etc, and no trouble found (NTF). Nor do we get reimbursed for verification of customers' complaint & handling to forward to a Motorola Depot. A warranty radio is a money losing radio for us, most of the time. From what I've read on various SRNs on Motorola's website, U.S. MSS's DO get paid for these things. I'm curious to know whether it's just our shop getting screwed, or whether all Canadian MSS's are in the same boat. It's probably not the sort of thing to discuss in a public forum, so if anyone working at a U.S. or Canadian MSS could send me a private message to confirm what they do & don't get paid for warranty work, it would be much appreciated. Thanks all,
Todd
