whats wrong with my software?

Post by dog pecker gnat »

Hello everyone, I just got an Astro Saber and I tried to install the software for it, but every time i would try the software would error, telling me that my 2.2 GB of free space was not enough for the programs 5 or 6 MB, so it wouldnt let me install.

Then for some reason, I would change the directory and it would try to install, then when it requested the second disk, it locked up.

Frustrating....

any ideas?

What radios do you own?: MTS/MCS2000

Im taking it thats dos software. same thing here, running Win XP. cant do it. has to be installed in dos mode. if your using multiple OS like I am, start in win98 and go to dos mode, then you can install. Windows wont really let you install dos prog.s anymore.

Yes, its DOS software. I currently run windows 98. I tried doing that in the DOS prompt and also tried it by starting the comp in DOS and it gave me the same error. I tried running it off disk and it tells me there is a decompression error also.

I guess I'm just not destined to program it

Hard to tell if ver. R09.00.00 will work either on your radio. If your radio was programmed with the latest R09.05.00 (i think  ), then you'll need that version to program. Once radio is programmed with the latest software, then that is the only software that will program it. It's not to easy to go back on software versions.

good luck

PS correct me if I'm wrong on the latest s/w revisions :D

Can R09.05.00 programed radios be read with CPS R02.00.00?

Yes, DOS 9.0.5 is interchangeable with CPS 2.0
