Looking at an MTSX Series Radio Model:

H01KDD9DB4AN

I did refer the the mode breakdown for this unit. What exactly do these options mean? :

DualMode Trunked
AND
Privacy Plus

Can I use on a conventional simpex/repeater system? Any Advice/Suggestion appreciated.
Thank You !

Sounds like a Export radio, if so- NO Motorola US support, also not FCC approved in the US.

According to my service manual, that's a VHF (136-178MHz), 99-mode, 6-character top display unit. It should be capable of Type I, II & IIi trunking, as well as conventional operation, so it'll work on your simplex/repeater set-up. The regular MTSX RSS should program it just fine.

Todd is right. The actual model name is the MTX838 and it is a legit Motorola product.

Bang on boys! That is a Canadian VHF MTX portable. It will work with regular MTSX software. They are a fantastic radio.
