HAM Band Modification - Can anyone do it for me?

Post by code3media »

In a previous topic (http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=14618), I asked if the Astro Saber III UHF could be modified to transmit on HAM bands. I read up on batlabs.com about the hex edit, but don't really want to take that chance, and end up doing something wrong to corrupt the radio or the program.

Don't modify the codeplug. BAD BAD BAD!! You would modify the file in RSS called astrop.odb, with a hex editor, to allow extended programming range. The instructions are on the ASTRO Saber page, on the main batlabs.com site.
Is there anyone out there that might be able to put these channels into my radio, or private message me the step by step directions. I am new to this and have never played arround with "Hex editing". [moderated - see notes]

Please let me know.
