Help with new XTVA w/dead HHCH

Post by cjustis »

I hope one of the Astro gurus can help me. I have a new XTVA (NTN8561E) with an HHCH (PLN7737B) for use with my XTS3000 (R07.08.00, mod:H09UCH9W7BN, flash:548008-000480-9). I can get the XTVA to charge the XTS3000, but cannot get the HHCH to come to life at all.

It’s been suggested that I need to “turn on” the HHCH via the XTS3000 codeplug before it will acknowledge its presence. I am using CPS (R02.05.00) thru a RIB, but cannot find (or at least recognize) any flag that I can set to activate it (I did, however, find the place to program the buttons). The RF Adapter (NTN8327A) has been installed. (God, it’s really scary that I’m starting to understand some of this stuff!)

Any suggestions would be appreciated! AND is there any CPS documentation available for download on the web?

Thanks,
Chip

As it turns out, the problem was not in the software at all. It was a poor connection between the portable and the data contacts in the XTVA. CPS now works fine.
