Hey guys, I already have my radios and stuff, but now I need lights. I'm doing Canine Search and Rescue so I don't need red or blue, but I need amber just in case we're parked in bad spots on roads or something. I probably won't use it much, so mag mount is good for me. I saw the sho-me stealth and it looks like a decent mini-bar for the price, but I'm wondering if you guys have any experience with it. What did you think? All I need is a temp. light for some runs, no siren or anything else. Thanks.

If you're going to be parked on the side of the road, I'd think amber LEDs would be excellent for you - I know they have been awesome for my use. Maybe something like a Whelen Talon (single or dual), or something along those lines would be good for you. Another option, if you want to consider it, would be hide-a-way strobes in your front parking lights and rear backups. I've seen these on several Rams, and they seem to work quite well.
Never thought about Amber LED's. Since I would only be using them with the shell on the truck for the dog, that would be perfect for me. I could install them on the back of the shell, one on each side, then just have a plug for them like I have for my led brake light (which is super bright by the way). Hmmmmm, could be an easy way to do this. I don't think I really need anything in the front, but then again I don't know what type of situations I'll be getting into. Maybe wig wags in the front?
Wig wags...might wanna rethink that.
Personally, I'd strongly discourage you from doing headlight flashers on your truck for 3 reasons...1, it may be illegal for you to have (well...use) them, and 2, blinding approaching traffic and 3, current draw. LED would be your best bet for battery conservation.
Again, my opinion only.

Two amber LED's alternating in the back window. Very simple and Sho-Me makes a nice little multi-pattern flasher you can use for them. Actually, I think they have a whole kit with the LED's and the flasher and amber should not be expensive.
For the front, since you want to save money, just get an Amber firebeam w/mirror and keep it behind the seat. They are not expensive are very effective. On the other hand, it does draw some current. A Talon LED would draw less but is a lot more expensive.

I have a set of blue 911EP LED Stars and they are also an excellent unit. You can mount them in the back window as well.

For the same reason a tow truck doesn't just use his 4-ways when he's picking up a vehicle and hanging out in a lane, or on the side of a highway with high speed traffic. I would rather keep my vehicle in tactjim wrote:911EP's LEDs are brighter and wider angled than anyone elses'.
What about just turning on you OEM 4-way hazards????
my 2 cents
