deaf 800 xts

Post by batdude »

i should have known better.

bought from bindler the swindler at dayton this year.

sold it to a friend of mine who didn't use it until this week (DUMB)

anyway, it's DEAF

like 250 microvolts to open up the receiver

anyone have an 800 RF board for an XTS laying about?

(or a simple "thing to check"?)

thanks,

What radios do you own?: APX / Astro 25 / Harris

lol, you know Binlder to eh? He's from my part of the world.

(shaking head) I still hate his guts for crap he pulled on me 8 years ago.

The shop he worked for fired him recently....

Is that unit put together from parts?

Open it up and see if the rf cable from the antenna connector is unplugged from the RF board.

Its amazing the amount of people who know him and the reputation he carries. I for one steer a wide berth around him. The old "once biten twice shy" thing.

well...

Post by batdude »

i opened it up, everything "LOOKS" ok.

no obvious damage to the board, the cable is plugged in...

too bad there are like zippo adjustments in the RSS for the RF section.

oh well, off to the depot.

the radio does have the serial tag, and the internal s/n matches the external tag. however, some jackass whoreflashed it to 4F1E instead of the plain jane H38/IMBE flashcode on the back of the radio.

hopefully the depot will fix it, and maybe even uplift the dsp while it's there
