XTS5000 on 9600 baud & multi system scan

Post by usaastro »

Has anyone successfully programmed their XTS5000 on a 9600 baud system receiving talkgroups on a simulcast site or single site using CQPSK or C4FM Digital Mode?

What I understand the system requires a connect tone like BEE04 or BEE09. Using this with talkgroups and the system id & control ch's is this all thats required to hear talkgroups?

On a 9600 baud system is it better to only program in the Simulcast Sites or program all the sites including single, simulcast & intellpeaters?

Using the XTS3000 I was able to scan multiple programmed systems using talkgroup scan or conventional, but with the XTS5000 in talkgroup scan or conventional it will only scan the system its on. Also in the software you have to assign a single scan list per system - not allowing me to use 1 scan list on 2 systems. Does anyone know a way around this?

Many Thanks!!

Sorry, on 9600 baud radios you can't do multiple system scan anymore.

The BEE08 like id's you are seeing aren't connect tones, rather the WACN (Wide Area Communications Network) Identifier. We put those in the connect tone field on trunkedradio.net until we can create a new column in the database for WACN.

Also beware that you can't program a 9600 baud radio to not-affiliate. The radio will contact the controller, and if it can't, you won't be able to monitor.
