MTX8000 channel spacing

Post by kc2dla »

I see MTX8000 B3 models for sale with this model number an awful lot: H01UCC6DB3AN. The 6 in position 7 indicates a channel spacing of 20/25KHz. Does this mean I cannot program the radio to follow a trunked system with a frequency of, say 856.7125 MHz??

All I need is a Type II capable MTX8000 with 16 modes at minimum. Is there a specific model number that I should look for?

Thanks,
Paul

"Channel Spacing" is a shorthand for bandwidth; a 20/25 kHz "channel" will is a 16 kHz bandwidth. This is quite separate from the resolution of the synthesizer, which in the MTX8000s I have seen is always 12.5 kHz.

So your radio should work just fine.

However, most MTX8000s will not program for a control channel above 866 mHz.
