Hi there,
Is it possible to make the LCD display on an Astro model 3 Saber appear a little darker, the one I have seems a little light compared to that on both of my Spectra HHCH and I am sure it will be a similar LCD unit. Maybe there is a small potentiometer to adjust?
Could some one enlighten me please.
Many Thanks Tom.
Is it possible to adjust display contrast on AS3?

Yes, you will have to unscrew the bottom and take out the saber, and if I remember its at the bottom of the display near the Mic, you will need a small flat head, and either go half and turn forward or back, once you do that put it back in, and screw it back up and test it, keep take it back out and in until you get to the right contrast, might take 3-5 to get it perfect.

Hi there,
Its not a case of being 'picky' about how the radio display looks, but there is a very big issue with viewing angle. The less contrasty the display the tighter the viewing angle for legible reading of the display. I am suprised really that given its a dot matrix display and relies on a complex driver circuit that this function isn't included in a softpot in the CPS/RSS. No matter however, as it is as you say, at the call of the user.
Thanks again for the interest.
Regards Tom
