I have the choice between The Police Impala or a Impala SS Both are Brand New from factory.

Which would you rather have?

That's your selection? 2 Impalas?

Your mind has already been made up!

Tahoe, good all-purpose vehicle.

I have an Envoy... a Tahoe that stayed in the dryer for too long, nice SUV.

Our local rep dumped his PP Expidition, and went with a PP Intripid and says it rocks, much better than the impala he was looking at. My two sense.

If the Special service packages are "as usual" is it worth giving up the extra luxuary items for the police package vs the SS?

Mmmmm....rubber floor mats... :)

I'd go with the Police edition impala. Of course I have an Intrepid and I love it...but given your choices...Police Edition...

I have the 9C3 package and love it, it is BLACK and does not look like a cop car at all. It has all the nice features inside, not like the 9C1. I do not want to stick out, Pictures are in a previous post, IMPALA POLICE CAR INSTALL

Considering the only real difference between the 9C1 and the civilian model is different wiring, coolers, interior and SLIGHTLY tighter suspension....

I'll take the next year model Intrepid with it's V8 and rear wheel drive and top speed of approx. 165 MPH.

I have an Impala LS, and have driven both the 9C1 and 9C3....and I'd go with the Impala SS...

Buy the oil (~$200) and power steering (~$50) coolers from GM and make the SS into a fast 9C1...almost everything about the SS and the 9C1 is mechanically the same or better- Same 4T65-E HD tranny, quicker 3800 with a S/C, same brakes, engine cradle is damn near the same, and all the interior goodies that the 9C1 doesn't have like the gauges and stereo.

My two cents...
