Motorcycle Helmet Headsets

Post by nc5p »

Hi,

Any recommendations on a reasonably priced helmet headset to work with the HT-1000? The helmet is a 3/4 style. I use a PS speakermike on a BICYCLE, but this won't work on a motorcycle too well. I already know about Setcom (a bit pricey for me), but are there others out there? What about the PTT switch? I have seen them mounted on the left side near the clutch and plugged into the headset wiring. Any other ideas? I am open to mods, making my own cables, etc.

I cleaned out my bank account to buy the bike, so don't have a lot of change left over.

Thanks,

Doug

Hi there,

Why dont you make one !!

I did this for an MTS2000 and it worked great.

Use the detail on the Batlabs site of the HT1000/MTS2000 connector and rig up a electeret mic in the front of the helmet, or use a boom if open face. Connect an ear piece and you are away on VOX. If you need a PTT (Better) then make a quick connector for the radio to the bike/helmet to incoroprate a bar PTT switch. It really is that simple and easy. You will be amazed how well it works!!

If you need a HT1000 acc. plug I have one here if you want to Pay Pal me the postage.

Good luck on your bike !!

Regards
Uncle Tom
