Ford Truck Install

Post by jimbrissie »

My department has recently gotten a 2004 Ford F250 Crew Cab.

We are in the process of outfitting it and are looking for suggestions on consoles. We only need to mount: Federal Switch Box, Federal Siren and a GM300. The truck has bucket seats with a center console between the seats.

I have looked at the Contour Console from Jotto-Desk for the F250's. Does anyone have any experience with this console, or any others?

Any thoughts or pictures would be appreciated.

Jimmy

The jotto-desk console is the way to go. High quality product.

I recently installed one in a F350. Very easy. Doesn't move after you bolt it in. I was worried it would squeak with the metal against the plastic, but it worked great. Very much worth the cost.

That thing that hangs under the dash is the FUGLIEST console that I've ever seen. It doesn't even belong on a lawnmower. It doesn't even match color or texture of the OEM dash and fits like crapola.

Use a standard Troy, Consolidator or a Gamber-Johnson. A custom one is another alternative.

I thought it would be too. But after installing it, it kinda grows on you. :D

I personally liked it. I uses room that is normally useless on a Ford.

I saw a truck with one and thought it was fugly.

To me, it just looks too out of place. I didn't care for the angle which you view the equipment, either. There was a CDM in it and you couldn't really see the display because of the angle.

I recently did a F250 4 door crew cab for my FD (same basic truck). I used a small standard console in front of the bucket seats made by Havis Shields. Worked out very well. Fit the equipment perfectly. I would highly recommend it! Email me if you want some pics!
