Location for ignition / park light power taps in Explorer

Post by HumHead »

Does anyone have any easy suggestions for where to pick up taps under the dash for ignition sense and parking lights in a 1998 Explorer?

The ignition sense will only be powering a relay.

The parking light tap is for the backlights on a Wildcard box. It would be slick to put them on the instrument lamp dimmer, but I don't know what sort of power is or is not available on the circuit, or if the dimming will mess with the lighting control "guts" of the wildcard box.

Thanks!! :)

Ignition B+ can be found at the ignition switch harness itself.
LG/PURPLE

The park lights can be had at the headlight switch
WHT/BLK

The easiest way to grab the DIM+ lead is to get it at the ashtray illumination lamp feed pair.
