Your talking about the vehicle...right? (I know, get my mind out of the gutter, I can't help it)

But really, I've heard there a pain in the ass. There was a website some that had some info, but I don't have it bookmarked on this computer.

I'll have to find the link but there is a guy with a website detailing the install of his Hummer.

I will say it was not up to our standards here on the board = to what that truck costs.

Do a google search you'll find it

Here's the one i found on the net. http://www.hummer.infa.net/snorkel.html
It doesn't look so hot to me. The radios are actually mounted so that the faces are pointing to the drivers back.

Just thought it would be a cool vehical to do an install on, lots of room for new ideas and toys.

I've done some work on a 1997 AMC hummer for Atlantic Beach Rescue here on Long Island. They have a totally custom rig. I've added some radios and some other minor stuff to it. Yes, a pain in the A_ _ to work on!

Our FD has a 2 door Hummer as a brush trunk with a nice clean install.. I'll try and dig up pics.

They put a Q siren in it, Jedi MTVA and a CF-27 on a Kodiak mount.

The place where the radios would normally be mounted in a military HMMWV is occupied by the increased size of the console -- if you can call it that -- in the civilian versions of the HMMWV.
Personally - I like the 15ft whip antennas that we had when I was in the Marine Corps - brings new definition to term 'mobile' radio.
