Passenger side airbag pics?
Since it's been mentioned recently, does anyone have pics of the results of a passenger side airbag deploying and taking out whatever was in it's path? jim, I think you said you saw one...
I'm just curious to see the extent of havoc - I'm sure it's unbelievable.

Air Bag Video
I have video (VHS, so no way of getting it on here, sorry) of a car being cut apart. They put a backboard between the airbag and the child seat in the passenger seat. When the air bag deployed, it snapped the backboard and sent the car seat a good 30 feet into the air. Straight up.
Airbags are your friends, until the car comes to a complete stop.

I remember a couple of years ago a big "no override" push by the automakers in fear of liability. The only vehicle that I have seen with this option would be in my 99 Jeep Wrangler Sport. You can disable the passenger side airbag with a key, but not the drivers side. Sure you can pull the airbag fuses, but that's a pain.
Its great that the pass airbag won't go off when four wheeling, but I will get it in my face.
Oh well.

Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system

Most 2 seaters, Jeeps and pickups have the switch since you don't have a backseat to install a child seat.
I use the AOI switch, which is nothing more than a resistor that substitutes the airbag's "squib" resistance and fools th SRS module into thinking the bag is in place.
Ususally, you need to fax a letter from your insurance carrier before they will take the order.
ALWAYS place a sticker in the car stating to turn the bag on if there is an occupant in the seat. On the same sticker, inform the driver do disable the bag if the laptop is in place. Make these note on the customer invoice, also. Cover your ass.

I think those have been around for sometime. Last year I was rear-ended by a lady in an Astro van when setting in a traffic jam. My car when forward into the truck in front of me. My airbag when off, but my pass side one did not. My car was a 1996 BMW.
