CDM1550LS External speaker problem

I have a CDM 1550 here that will not put speaker audio through the external speaker. I would like to know if there is a jumper or something like that that needs to toggle the external speaker. I have the pins in the right place for the speaker according to the manual. I was also told that the external speaker had to be enabled via rss.. Any info would be apreciated...

you usually have external spkr on pins
1 ext spkr -
16 ext spkr +
*****(2 outer pins on each side n/u)

this is your acc connector viewed from the rear, (x marks the spot)
