XTS3k saga.

Post by bhaguan »

Hi all,
I have been using my two XTS3ks now for two years with a nasty hacked codeplug in them. They work fine and do everything I require, but it just eats away at me knowing they are not 100%.
This all started with the dreaded CP 2 new 4 this app, and after many weeks of hex editing I managed to create the cp i am currently using. Thats right, I HAND CODED (with a few reference cps) a blank cp for v8.05 dos rss. If anyone would like a copy of it let me know, it does work! just 8) .
Anyway to cut to the chase, what would really put me at ease would be a REAL codeplug (before the flames start, my understanding is that cp trade is not a mortal sin).
So, if anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it, details are:

The dream : LAB srec file of dos rss programmable cp.
CP for DOS rss 9.05 or under.
xts3k H09RDH9PW7BN
(403-470)

In reality any dos rss xts3k cp would help.
oh: my email is (yes, WITH the spam) spambin at optusnet.com.au.
TIA.

If you can "hand code" a blank codeplug, what would a regular / lab codeplug do for you?

What does your built codeplug NOT do that you need it too?

Well, for starters when I go to play around, as you do sometimes, and I read in the cp i get :

!!! WARNING !!!
The codeplug you are trying to read/write contains
identities inconsistent with the model with which it
is associated. This codeplug may either be an old
pre-release prototype OR may have undergone some
unauthorized modification. SERIOUS future radio and
RSS problems WILL result IF processing is continued!

Which naturally I just ignore  .

And the rss displays no model number once the cp is loaded  .

And my nasty cp only enables 2 display lines   on my III.

But like I said , the plug does work, it just doesnt make me feel good  .

Anyway, some additional info :
flashcode : 500008-000600-5

Seriously people, ANY xts3k DOS rss codeplug would be great. I dont have CPS, cant afford CPS, and no doubt would be denied the right to purchace CPS.
