XTS3000 hacking

Ok , I have given up hope for a rss compatible codeplug.

My question:

Does anyone know where to look in an xts3000 srec file (not codeplug, srec), for the section that defines the display type?

I have a model III , but it has a model II codeplug in it, so I only get two lines of display and its driving me mad.
