Is RKN4073A the only way to clone the PRO series?

You can clone your PRO Series portable two way...

1. With clone cable about $50.00 NSO

2. Clone with software and your cable plus rib, or ribles cable.

Clone cables are nice but your master radio must match with model numbers on the target radio..

You cannot clone with the PRO Series CPS, you require the cloning cable. The only function that can be set in the CPS is whether the radio can or cannot be cloned.

You can however dump the codeplug from one radio of the exact same model number to another of the same. The CPS does not write the tuning values, that can only be done through the PRO Series Tuner SW.

The 'radio-to-radio' cloning selection is under 'Radio Configuration' on the 'Basic' menu in the CPS. If you want the radio to be able to be cloned using the cloning cable, select the check box for 'radio-to-radio cloning'.
