I am trying to program a ht1000 it is telling me it is a uhf radio when it is a vhf high band any info on why this is occouring

My guess is that something isn't quite matching up with it...
Where did you get the radio?
Are you using the most recent version of the RSS?
Has the case been switched on the radio?
Has someone improperlly cloned the wrong codeplug into the radio?
What kind of computer, rib, and cable are you using to program the radio?
That's some of the questions I can think of to ask off the bat. Answering these might help better determine where the problem is coming from.

It might have a controller in it that was swapped out from another radio. Have you had experience with programming this radio before?
If not, you might want to open it and see what RF board is actually connected to it. Look for a part number on the board which will be something like NLDxxxx if it's VHF,
or NLExxxx if it's UHF.
Once you know that for sure, post the results here and a Jedi product specialist (that's NOT me!) will probably tell you what to do next.
