AStro Saber I power up problems

Got an astro saber I in VHF, on power up I get the green light for about 5-7 seconds then nothing. Acts like it's dead, no audio, and attempts to read with the RSS get a protocol acknowledge error? Anywhere I can start looking for any easy fix or does it need a trip to the depot? Thanks!!!!
