XTS3000 and XTS5000 Posted on Ebay: Genuine or Fake??

Post by Astrojedi »

There are a couple of people that are posting a bunch of XTS3000 and XTS5000 on Ebay. I am interested in buying either a 3000 or 5000 but I would like to hear comments and/or someone that bought the beforementioned radios before I make my desicion. Any comments will be appreciated.

easy

Post by batdude »

this is easy.

unless you know the seller - either from here or elsewhere.

DON'T BUY ONE OFF OF EBAY.

there are SOME EXCEPTIONS to this rule... but if you have questions, post the link to the auction here for opinions before you bid/buy

for the most part, the XTS 5000's on ebay are dog poop. either they have developmental codeplugs in them (which can't be hacked/changed w/o the special developmental RSS) or they are parts built junk.

in order

these first two i believe are sold out of CA but shipped from HK. find out if they have serial tags and whether they are parts built. i would avoid the xts 5000 for sure since you can't repair anything that needs fixin' if the codeplug is screwed.

I am afraid so, both have similar feedbacks and their accounts are created recently (both since 2002)

I think this user quite new and the product seems like user "kookoo123" and "recycleradioabc". Well Know most of the XTS5000 mode II and III is a Alpha Series, but I'm not sure Mode I.

Personally I'm quite interesting about the RIB, it's look like a paper box ,,, How it's work !!

And considering the XTS5000's DO NOT use a RIB.

It appears to be simply a box holding the ribless programming cable...although labeling it 'RIB' is very misleading & confusing.

What radios do you own?: Dynatac

No, it is an American HT1250 he is selling.
I had an issue with mine and he refused to make it right... That seller has been mentioned numerous times on this board.
