XTS3k and multi PL's

Post by radioactive69 »

As you can see I am a newbe here. I have several System Sabers and I know them well. Like the standard and System Sabers, does the XTS line of radios have selective PL in conventional operation?

I have the need for 10 common PL's to be selected to access differant repeaters on the same frequency pair. If not the XTS line
then what MOT portable or other MFG would accomplish this?

Why inquire here? I need a narrow band VHF HT, like XTS.

Thanks.

The XTS3000 will not fit your needs to do multi PL.

The MTS2000 will, but it must be a true MTS2000. MT2000s that I have seen thus so far have the option in the software, but it will not work.

Kenwood radios' will do what you are looking to do, they have a programmable button to set user selectable tone and will do upto 16 pl/dpl encode-decode combinations.. :D

Kenwood public safety web site doesn't advertise the PL feature.
I will inquire about such options from a Kenwood Dealer I know.

But, does anyone reading this know if the XTS5000 has any flashable feature or option for multi PL or DCS?

Perhaps M might have thrown in that feature. How could this be the best Astro without such an option? The MTS2000 does not have enough conventional channel capacity. I desire at least 220 conventional channels. I am not asking for much.

Doug.
