STOLEN XTS3000 MODEL III's - Australia

Post by digital comms »

Many people are expressing the opinion that all the xts3000 model 3 radios floating around on the market in australia are stolen, i ask where do you get this information from as whenever an xts3000 from australia pops up here on the board, there are a select few that jump on it and claim that it is stolen.

I would just like some of them to provide evidence of this as i am sure that of the 2300+ XTS3000's being used in australia
( figure provided my motorola ) by various agencies and individuals as myself, that not all of them could possibly be stolen.

Anyone here in australia can buy a model 3 xts3000 with the basic /\/\ flashcode from the factory for around $3600 NEW with all tags etc as i have bought one myself that i use everywhere i go on UHF CB, police recieve, customs recieve and GRN recieve.

ALL I AM ASKING FOR IS SOME PROOF TO BACKUP YOUR CLAIMS - That's All.

Im unsure why the 'select few' always post up that all xts3000's in australia are stolen!

I am in australia and have purchased several xts3000's from the US. (model 3's on both UHF bands)

in fact, a batlabs board member sold be one direct (and can vouch for that). I bought several 'parts built' radios from nick/watchbuddy. I know of at least 5 other people who bought xts3000's and astro sabers from nick and other board members. if the need arises I can also scan a printout of the ebay auctions that we won on 4 xts3000's along with a scan of the international money transfer's.

the only problem with nick's radios were that the CPS software that he used to program the radios with was to new for many of us. so, LAB RSS gets used to force a RSS codeplug onto the radio sending the same flashcode and serial number to the radio. (you will find that there are prob at least 30-40 radios with the same flash and serial number in australia. forcing a codeplug to a radio is ALOT less time consuming than reprograming 200 channels into a radio and if it is a radio built by nick the serial number would have been all 0's or 1's anyway so its not like you are trying to hide the serial number).

I have a yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/POLICE_DIGITAL/ many of the group members use xts's/sabers/spectra's and to say that all the radios used by the group are stolen is just plain STUPID.

I'm sorry have I missed something, who has made the claim that all XTS3000's floating around Australia are stolen??

And just confirm for me that I can walk into Motorola Australia or anyone of their dealers and hand over AU$3600 for a basic flashcode XTS3000? As some people (they know who they are) have said that this is not possible or that they had a lot of trouble in doing so.

there have been numerous posts throughout the board with people saying that 99% of xts3000's in australia are stolen. (i have only ever seen 3 ex olympics xts3000's with a SAMSUNG sticker instead of a MOTOROLA sticker, all these been radios that I have put UHF CB channels into on behalf the RFS)

I would not have a clue about $3600 basic radio availibility from Motorola australia but why on earth would you pay $3600 for a model 1 when you can get a model 3 from the for sale section on batlabs for around $1k-1200US plus delivery ??????
