I have a Motorola UHF XTS3000R Model 1 which i believe is a parts built radio and i was wondering if it's possibly for me to add flashcode feature Q351 MODAT Operation to my radio while keeping my current flashcode options since sending a parts built XTS to Motorola without serial tags is out of the question. My current flashcode is 100004-000000-4 and i dont want to lose any of my current flashcode features by adding option Q351. Is it possible for to add Q351 Modat Operation to my flashcode features without losing any of my current flashcode options and if so, how do i go about doing this? Im currently using DOS RSS version R08.50.00 to program the radio. Please feel free to send me a PM if you need too. Thanks.

Easy answer is No.
The only way around this is to dump in a codeplug that has those features (and most likely other features) into the radio. If the radio does not have any tags on it, and you are comfortable in giving the radio a lobotomy then all should work, but one small mistake, and you will turn your radio into a dumb rock.
In reality, I wouldn't bother with it. If wanted to go about it the right way, you can't get it. That option is no longer available, and was a suboption for VSLEP. In essenace, you would be paying for VSLEP ($500, plus $80 for MODAT) then you need to pay another $400 to upgrade VSLEP back to CAI.
But since VSLEP is no longer an upgrade option, it doesn't matter
If you do a search thru some of the Astro threads, you will find that this subject has been covered pretty well, and how to do it.
