Will one program due both or will i have to buy two different programs. Also can you clone one HT1250LS to another HT1250LS with just a cable or do you need rss? Same question for CDM 1550LS. I don't want to screw the local shop out of business but they get 40 for the first and 30 for any more and when you are talking about twenty to thirty inits that gets expensive, plus they never put a lot of work into programing the display stuff.

P.S. What does the RSS list for, or just give me a part number and I can look it up thanks to what I learned yesterday.
HT1250LS &CDM 1550LS RSS... SAME???

I'm not sure, but I think the firmware upgrades are covered under warrenty, and you just have to drop it off at a shop to get the upgrade.
I'm not sure, but I was told at one point that the RSS is not for sale to the general public, only if your a dealer. I'm probably wrong, but who knows with Motorola...
I don't know about cloning, and programming other radios with the RSS, I've only programmed the HT1550XLS.

You need the RSS to do the programming, there's no straight cloning cable that I know of for the HT/CDM series. The RSS is available to anyone who's willing to sign a license agreement & pay the outrageous prices. It's been covered here many times, call 1-800-422-4210 & go through phone prompt hell to get the ball rolling. As far as the firmware upgrades go, they are covered under warranty as was stated. If out of warranty, the price will vary per dealer. A lot of dealers may not even be set up to do them, we weren't until quite recently, as we've never had any firmware issues to deal with (just lucky, I guess). Part# for the latest HT/CDM software is HVN9025H.
