You don't, they're a sealed unit. You can't get them open without destroying the housing. A little bit of contact cleaner, sprayed with a fine nozzle hose into the small fissures surrounding the PTT button usually does the trick. Otherwise, you just get a new one.

What radios do you own?: FPP 6 meter XTL 5K's

Rich,

Those mics don't cost a whole heck of a lot, or you may be able to find a good used one, the freestyle dumpster diving at Dayton hamvention is a good place to find some of that stuff. They let you keep everything you pick out in the competition. SG

What radios do you own?: Too many!

I took one (several) apart to 'rewire' it to work on a HAM radio. It took several tries before I finally got one that didn't break apart. There are two clips on either side that snap together. Make sure you do all the mods on it before you snap it back together, 'cause it is a pain in the but to get them apart.

Hi:

Also, if you are the desperate type, and
can take the rear hosuing off the back, you
most likley will find the " PTT " Lever is
Broken, and the only thing pushing the PTT
button out is the spring loaded tension on
the switch....That many times will cause them
to " Stick " as the broken pieces of plastic
are not mated anylonger.

And, yes you can order the PTT lever for a
Sealed Mic...Go Figure.
