Just curious what this stuff is.

I've seen it in pieces of software along the way, have never messed with it though because I do not know about it.

I have seen on here occasionally people talking about reading radios with no pack, etc so am hoping to learn something new.

If you know or learn exactly how S-records ar set up and precisely what they do, and you learn how to manipulate the built-in authentication and error checking in an S-record file, you can literally hack anything into your radio by correctly hacking the appropriate S-records.

It's a black art.
