Keynote Pager numeric display

I've seen a few Motorola Keynote pagers with numeric displays on the top of them, to make them Tone/Voice/Display. What type of signaling is used for the numeric display? DTMF? Pocsag? Do they still activate off two-tone paging?

I believe that model was a GOLAY pager.

GOLAY was a proprietory format that Motorola dropped a number of years ago.

They use Motorola's Golay format.
