CDM 1250/1550 DTMF Decode to Control Auxilliary

Post by adh »

Has anyone ever tried (and hopefully succeeded) to control the "Auxilliary Control" functions on the Motorola CDM1250 or 1550 using received DTMF with the optional HLN4182 DTMF Decoder Board?

I can't for the life of me get it to work and both the Motorola Product Support Group and the Subscriber Repair Centre (USA & Canada) was unable to help. :-?

I have no problem programming the "Auxilliary Control" functions and using them to control relays using the programmable front buttons on the radio, but the DTMF decode and control won't work for me.

I have successfully installed the HLN4182 DTMF decoder board because it will decode and display.

In the CPS "Radio Configuration-Option Board" I have it set to "simple decoder". Where it gets murky for me is in the "signalling" configuration and I think this is the key, but I have tried everything I can think of...

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)
