Well another question, I have all the front lights coming on via a button, now I can't seem to get the light under the channel knob to function??????

I did get the MDC ID function to work and thanks for that info.

I now have 41 happy users on the dept.

I know with the XTS3000 you can modify the rotary channel selector light via the "MORE OPTIONS" from the Radiowide menu.

It might be a connection problem. Remove
the housing (you do NOT have to pull the knobs off because the controls and knobs are part of the housing unit, but you DO have to remove just the antenna), blow out the connector, and reinstall it.

As for software issues, make sure the radio doesn't have surveillance mode turned on. That mode is supposed to silence all tones and turn off all lights.
