PURC5000 Ham Band Conversion

Post by WB6DGN »

I have a PURC5000 transmitter that was originally on 956.4125Mc. According to my book, the IPA will tune from 928 to 960Mc, but the driver and PA decks come in two flavors, TTF1212 and TTF1242 which cover 928 to 944Mc; and TTF1213 and TTF1243 which cover 944 to 960Mc. As fate would have it, I've got the high split parts.

Does anyone on the board have experience converting these high split parts to the ham band? I thought about using the silver pen on the stripline as with the RX VCO's, but I think the heat would be a problem. Also, balancing the output of the six amps on the PA deck would be a real ball.

Any ideas? Would sure hate to relegate this back to the dumpster.
