MDC1200 on HT1250 Question

Post by flyinace09 »

I have MDC1200 enabled and transmitting its information for use on my town's EMS/Fire frequency. I also use the radio for Civil Air Patrol, which I loaded those 16 channels into another bank. Thing that I just noticed during a comms exercise was that my radio was transmitting MDC1200 while in that bank. Is there a way to disable MDC per zone/bank or is it gnerally on or off? The civil Air Patrol doesn't have any use for it, but also has that "grey area" where they don't allow any type of signalling or transmitting on their airwaves except voice, packet, and PL tone... :-?

when you created your codeplug did you copy each frequency from the next if so you turned on MDC on every channel. you can turn it on or off on a per channel basis.

In your CPS for each personality you should have a "Signalling" tab. You should have a drop down menu on that tab with "MDC-1" or "MDC-2", change that to "none" to disable MDC on a per-channel basis.
