MSF5000 Guru Question

Post by hoser »

Are the analog (CLB) control trays universal to all band models?

That is, could a UHF tray (from a C76CLB7106AT) be installed and programmed into a 900MHz (C85CLB) repeater?

900 MHz MSF CLB stations use a different Station Control Board than the UHF stations. It appears to be similar but with added circuitry for Hear-Clear.

The 900 MHz PURC5000 stations do use the same TLN2423A board that the UHF MSF5000 uses, so it would appear that you could make a 900 MSF work OK with a board from a UHF station if you did not need Hear-Clear.
