I have a Console that looks like a Moden terminal or MDC1200 terminal
the model number is F2491A

Intrac 2000 is a status & control system.
The DMC (Desktop Master Central) receives messages from the Intrac 2000 RTU's (Remote Terminal Unit) like intrusion alarm, AC fail, water in tank is low, etc.
The buttons let you send commands like turn on the lights, start the generator, turn on the center pivot, etc.

"what is the protocol used with this ?"
Intrac uses its own protocol - it has been around for many years - it's definitely not the same as MDC.
It is well documented & has been used for all sorts of stuff like siren control systems, micrwave radio system alarm & control, municipal water system monitoring & pump control, etc.

- What radios do you own?: too many
I created this wav file of an INTRAC system used for fire department station alerting many years ago.

To add to the above, INTRAC is basically the predecessor of MOSCAD and is a SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) device. It's used to gather data and to control functions in water and sewer systems, electrical generation and distribution systems, industrial distributed process systems (like refineries), and all kinds of other utility and manufacturing systems, and of course, alerting and setting alarms in various applications. In the much expanded MOSCAD technology, there are video and audio monitoring security systems in all that capability, too.
Radio telemetry is just one of the ways it's capable of communicating. It can also utilize all kinds of wireline and fiber technology as well as IDEN and cellular technologies and analog and digital trunked radio. Within the radio telemetry protocols there are some MDC functions that are supported, but what you hear in the huge majority of systems is not MDC protocol.
