Bad XTS5000 LCD Display

Post by Alex663 »

Instead of high jacking the other thread I'll start this one. When i turn on the radio the display shows the text then slowly begins to fade until it almost unreadable, also there is a dark black line that runs horizontal across the center of the screen. I was going to order a screen from MOTO and replace it myself, but I wanted to get a second opinion on the issue. Has anyone seen this before, and does it sound like the LCD module or could another board be causeing this? I'd hate to waste $70 on the display if thats not the problem. Thanks for any info.

No thoughts? I'm grasping at straws here, but.....Anyone have a cracked display (that works, just cracked) they would let me try? Or is there someone near NC,SC, or GA, that would be willing to try my screen in their radio if i ship the LCD to you? Or maybe someone has another idea?? Thanks
