XTS3K 800 MHz FAIL 001

Post by tmtu »

Picked up a XTS3000 at a hamfest today... shows FAIL 001

The firmware (I think it is) scratched on the back is R6.71.00. Have no real use for 800 but would be good to get it going.

Would I need a codeplug or a s-record or both?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

FAIL 001 indicates VCO out of lock. The radio needs to be realigned first, to see if that's the issue. Otherwise, it's either a hardware failure or someone has forced an incorrect-bandsplit codeplug into that radio.

R06.71 is a weird firmware version... is that the rebandable firmware for 9600 capability on a 3K?

From what I've found on here... looks like it has the P25 trunking firmware installed on it.

If somebody has a S-Record that would work with this firmware... please PM me!

Thanks!
