MOL and XTS2k/5k CPS

Post by Logitec »

Almost time to re-up on the 3 years. Should I be searching on some new part number other than RVN4181? Or is MOL just temporarily messed up? Getting this. I know I can call, just haven't done it yet. On-line is supposed to be convenient.

1. Item Number. RVN4181GR * The item RVN4181GR has been replaced with RVN4181NR. Selecting this item will add RVN4181NR to your cart.
RVN4181NR: Item has been cancelled

Anyone else getting this:

Your search for item numbers beginning with RVN4181AC returned 0 record(s).

Please refine your search criteria and try again.

Try searching just RVN4181. Sometimes exact part numbers don't always come up in a search..

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

Thats weird, it comes up on mine..

I just searched RVN4181, and I got a whole page of all the old revisions.. Each one saying it's been replaced with another version, leading all the way to the bottom of the page where it lists RVN4181 AA (R10.00.00), and RVN4181 AC (R11.00.00).

FWIW, I just had a strange situation while ordering the CPS for the XTS3000. I have a business account with M and the software licensing agreement was already on file. To this day, whenever I log onto MOL and go into the two-way radio section, some radio's show me the software that is available and some do not. The XTS3000 section did not show me the software (nor does the XTS5000 section), but I was able to order it without any problems when I called. Furthermore, I was able to download the CPS shortly after ordering it. I cannot explain this nor can the phone wags at M.

Each software title has to be activated for download after you've purchased it.

Sometimes, the system will set this flag automatically once the software has been shipped, paid for, and is outside of the return date. MOL is not exactly a bastion of reliability and there have been times where I've had to call to set the download flag several months after I received the CD, so YMMV.

I have had a need to immediately download software before, so I had to call customer service and have the MOL team activate for download. Each time they've done this, they've disclaimed it by saying I can't return the software once it's been activated for download on MOL.
