Purchase R2002C/HS

Post by danhebert »

Hi
I am considering purchasing a R2002C/HS off ob ebay ($800 or about). IS this a fair price for a working systems? They said the internal battery is dead, is this expensive or hard to replace?
I have not used this model and Can not much about it on the web. Any major problem I should be looking for?

Thanks

What radios do you own?: What's a radio?

The internal battery is a 3 volt lithium mounted on the processor board for the programmable memory. The analyzer works fine without it, but you won't be able to save frequencies. I would be more concerned with the condition of the CRT (how much life is there in that tube, it's VERY expensive) and the RF I/O module. $800.00 is an O.K. price for a "C" model, but I would try to find a "D" model. It has more bells and whistles in the basic box and was much more reliable.

Thanks Dave -- I will ask the seller -- I sent him a list of other questions and he has not responded so will probably pass on this one unless his answer acceptable.
