Howdy,
I recently acquired a R2001D Service Monitor and although we have figured out how to use the main features such as Monitor and Generate we need a manual to learn the other capabilities. Does anyone know where I can get an operator and service manual or have a scanned version available?
I have one other question, it appears the Antenna jack may have been transmitted into as it seems to have very low sensitivity. I can easily monitor NOAA 162.425 on the RF IN/OUT but not the Antenna jack. I carefully tried to remove the connector from the front hoping it would unscrew and have a fuse but it didn't want to come off. I removed the lower cover and it appears there may be a small part or diode type device between the rf cable and the rear of the connector. Can anyone confirm this? Is there a fuse for this input somewhere?
Thanks

Your best bet for the operator's manual or the service manual would be a ham fest or ebay.Dorf411 wrote:Howdy,

The antenna port is fused and the fuse is accessible fron the front panel. Slide a BNC connector over the port but DO NOT twist lock it (the BNC is used to protect the antenna connector in the next step). Now take a gas pliers and turn the connector counter clockwise until it breaks loose. Unscrew the connector the rest of the way by hand. The fuse is a 1/8th amp picofuse with trimmed leads.

Re: R2001D Svc Mon Operator Manual Needed
Thanks for the info on the connector, it looked like it should unscrew but it wouldn't with a moderate amount of force. I was worried we would do just the work you used below "break" it. I will try your suggested method to see if I can get it with out damaging the connector.
