Waris is the name for the new Professional Series Radios (HT750, HT1250, EX500 CTR).
Jedi is the HT1000, MT/MTS2000 and VISAR line, Gemini is for the HT600/MT1000 and I guess you can include the P200. The analog Sabers are Saber, and the digital Saber is the Astro line.

i don't think it has a code name.
the whole "astro" term was actually an internal joke from what i heard.
when the project was just getting funded in the mid to late 80's, there were some pictures of, yes, ELROY, GEORGE and the whole Jetson's clan being passed around...
someone coined "astro" after the mutt, and it stuck.
just what i heard... from good sources.
oh, the MCS/Nexthell/GM900/MC2100 series mobile chassis is known as one of two terms, RENEGADE or RENAISSANCE... depends on where you look... i think renegade is a pager too, so that's why they coined RENAISSANCE...

Would you happen to know if those Jetsons pictures being passed around were the infamous and fantastic pornographic 'jab' series?
Those are funny as hell, and drawn so well you wonder if the original artists didn't do them. If you haven't seen them, and you have a sense of humor, they're worth looking for.
