XTS3000 Service Mode?

Hello,

I have probably the most basic XTS3000 (no display on the front or anything). I know you can enter the "service mode" by pushing the third button on the side (with the .. )5 times and it beeps, like it is entering service mode. Since I don't have a display to see what is going on, is there any functions that this mode can be used for?
