R series controls parts question

Post by billroig »

Looking for the Volume and squelch control (concentric) for the R-2200 or R-2410A. I believe they are the same. Also, maybe someone might be able to give me the Motorola part no. Or, The resistance value.

Thanks,

What radios do you own?: Spectra, MSF5000, X9000, Micor

From the R2200 MAINTENANCE MANUAL date 4/1/84:
Resistor R3,4 18-80378A21 variable; 100K
Hope this helps.

I was told years ago that the controls are no longer available. Let me know where you find one.

I ordered my replacement parts from KG Electronics in Atlanta, GA. They happened to have my NOS parts in stock.
Very hard to track down now, their website doesn't show their current contact info.

You might even try Cardinal Electronics, or Auburn Metrology.

Is the control completely failed? or does it just need contact cleaner?

I would say the pot is definately bad. I tried cleaner anyway but the pot show open end to end. If you turn it, you show resistance from the center to one end until it hits the dead spot.
