Astro Spectra: Can Conventional Control Head be Used (A5/A7)

Post by seleong »

I'm sure this question was asked before: Can a conventional Spectra A5/A7 control head be used on an Astro Spectra? I know the A9 can be converted to a W9 with a firmware change - I was curious if the A5/A7 could be used as-is.

Thanks for your help!

JMR set me up with a W9 head that started life as a standard analog A9 control head. He said all it took was a firmware swap and that makes it an Astro Control head. It works like a charm without any issues at all.
